Napoli are reportedly interested in signing Empoli talent Tommaso Baldanzi, who has recently claimed that he is keen on a move to Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to CalcioMercato, the 19-year-old talent is being viewed by the Serie A leaders as a ‘dream’ signing, with Baldanzi enjoying a breakout year with Empoli having scored four goals in 15 appearances for the Italian side, with interest now mounting.
Yet in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the Tuscany-born prospect revealed that his goal in football is to one day play for Liverpool, with Baldanzi saying: “I would like one day to be coached by Klopp. He’s a very strong coach on a world level. I have to keep working and improving, then we’ll see what happens.”
With Napoli on course to win their first Scudetto this century, Baldanzi could be keen on a move to the southern Italian giants, especially with Liverpool unlikely to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season following a dreadful campaign for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Indeed, Napoli are quickly establishing themselves as one of the most interesting and exciting clubs in all of Europe, and for Baldanzi, signing for the Neapolitan side could be a better career move than waiting for a move to Anfield, with Liverpool unlikely to move for an attacking midfielder in the summer.
