Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez has agreed personal terms with Graham Potter’s Chelsea despite interest from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool among other clubs, according to 90min.
The report has claimed that Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all have been in talks with Benfica over a move for Fernandez in the January transfer window.
Chelsea are making a real push for the midfielder now, and the Argentina international himself is keen on a move to the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.
The report has claimed that Fernandez has a release clause of €120 million (£106 million) in his contract at Benfica, adding that the player ‘himself is fully aware of the offer on the table from Chelsea, with personal terms already agreed in principle’.
Enzo Fernandez blow for Liverpool
This will come as a blow for Liverpool.

If Fernandez, who won the 2022 Qatar World Cup with Argentina, has a deal in principle with Chelsea, then all that the Blues have to do to get a deal done is trigger the release clause.
Or, as journalist Simon Phillips has told GiveMeSport, pay more than the release clause and spread out the payment.
Would Liverpool be able to do that?
Should Liverpool pay £106 million for a 21-year-old midfielder who joined Benfica from Argentine club River Plate only in the summer of 2022.
