Manchester United are reportedly set to make a €120m (£106m) bid to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani, with Liverpool also interested in the French international.

According to Bild, the Red Devils are preparing a club-record offer to sign the 24-year-old striker, who this season has been one of the best players in Europe after a breakout year in Germany, with Kolo Muani scoring 16 goals and bagging 14 assists in all competitions.

With Kolo Muani also impressing for France at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the former FC Nantes star has seen his stock rise to incredible levels, and now, United are set to make a huge offer to sign the forward, much to the dismay of their Premier League rivals Liverpool.

Sport Bild have recently reported that the Reds themselves were to also make a bid for Kolo Muani. However, it now looks like United will beat them to a punch with a club-record offer, with Erik Ten Hag keen to add a world-class striker to his ranks for next season.

Indeed, the Frankfurt sensation has been nothing short of incredible this campaign, and based on what sort of striker United want to lead the line, Kolo Muani ticks a lot of boxes for Ten Hag, with Liverpool simply unable to match the sort of money the Manchester giants are putting on the table for this signing.

Moreover, given the clear issues Liverpool have in their defence and midfielder, matching United’s offer for Kolo Muani would be nothing short of madness from Jurgen Klopp, who will be doing more damage than good to his squad should he go in for the Frankfurt star.

Liverpool might have beaten United 7-0 this season, but few fans would agree that a huge attacking signing is what’s needed to truly bridge the gap between the two clubs for next season, which is why the Manchester side signing Kolo Muani should not faze Klopp and his team.

As we know, Liverpool should be looking to overhaul their midfield in the summer with some added depth also needed in the defence. And whilst Kolo Muani would have been a neat transfer, the striker would be better off joining United, with Darwin Nunez clearly the man who will lead the Reds for years to come.
