A report has suggested that Manchester City are now interested in a transfer for Liverpool-linked defensive midfielder Khephren Thuram.
It was only claimed on Thursday that the Reds were also tempted by the chance of signing the Nice lynchpin.
While many commented that Khephren Thuram to Liverpool makes perfect sense as a transfer, Manchester City now pose a threat to their hopes of signing him.
Manchester City also interested in transfer for Liverpool target Khephren Thuram
The 22-year-old, who is Marcus Thuram’s brother and Lilian Thuram’s son is viewed as one of the most talented young midfielders in the world.

A tough tackler, powerful ball-carrier, intelligent reader of the game and technically proficient, Thuram most certainly has the potential to become one of the best No.6’s in the world.
However, as per Foot Mercato, Manchester City are also ‘seduced’ by the idea of a transfer involving Khephren Thuram, alongside some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
It has also been claimed that while £44 million seemed like the price at which the French talent would depart the club, bids could rise up to £53 million in the summer window.
HITC View: If Manchester City want him, they’ll get him
It really is as cut and dry as that.
Liverpool have been in freefall in what has been an unprecedented fall from grace for an elite side, while Manchester City have a chance of winning a treble, which would make it easy for Khephren Thuram to decide his transfer destination out of the two clubs.
While the financial disparity between both clubs will be cited as a factor behind City’s advantage, the truth lies in the fact that they are simply light years ahead of their former title rivals.
Despite Thuram potentially being an excellent upgrade on the declining Fabinho, it may not amount to much if the Sky Blues are ready to bring him to the Etihad Stadium.
