Liverpool have landed a boost to their pursuit of a free transfer for Adrien Rabiot. Juventus now seem resigned to his exit as they monitor Manchester United loanee Marcel Sabitzer.

That is according to CalcioMercatoWeb, which reports Juventus have now marked Sabitzer as the perfect replacement for Rabiot. The Serie A side highly appreciate what the Austrian may offer in Italy if he does not stay at Old Trafford. He is also unlikely to return to Bavaria.

Erik ten Hag urged the Red Devils to sign Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich on deadline day in January. But a permanent transfer is currently unlikely. Yet Julian Nagelsmann does not view him as an instrumental part of his plans. So, the 28-year-old could ask for a move.

It is currently most likely that Manchester United let Sabitzer return to Bayern Munich this summer. The 68-cap midfielder has only appeared five times for 282 minutes since joining the Red Devils. He also fell to the bench for the Carabao Cup final with Casemiro returning.

Bayern Munich would want €20m (£17.5m) to sell Sabitzer, per Bild, having paid RB Leipzig €16m (£14m) for him in 2021. He is also under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2025. So, Sabitzer could ask Der FCB to grant a transfer if Manchester United opt against buying him.

Juventus consider Sabitzer to be a perfect replacement for Rabiot as the chances of the 27-year-old leaving for free increase. It is, currently, inconceivable that the Bianconeri will find a middle ground with the Frenchman over a new contract due to their vast gaps in valuations.

Liverpool transfer boost as Juventus eye Man Utd loanee Sabitzer to replace Rabiot

Juventus losing hope of keeping Rabiot and targeting Sabitzer following his loan transfer to Manchester United will boost Liverpool’s hopes of singing the Frenchman. Calciomercato has reported that the Reds are among the teams positioning themselves to target Rabiot.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are the four clubs showing the most interest in Rabiot’s transfer. While Calciomercato adds the Bianconeri offered to extend his €7m-a-year (£118k-a/w) net deal to 2025. But he wants €10m-a/y (£169k-a/w).
