A reliable journalist has claimed that Jude Bellingham will elect to join Liverpool, if it isn’t a question of money.

Since the World Cup and even before, the Reds have long been linked with a move to sign the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.

A series of stellar performances in Qatar for England has seen the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City join Liverpool in the race to sign the 19-year-old dynamo.

It has been reported in the past that Jurgen Klopp’s side are favouries to secure his signature.

And Christian Falk of Bild has claimed that he will indeed decide to sign for Liverpool, but only if Bellingham himself resists the allure of the mega money that he could receive at another club.

Falk told GMS: “If it’s not a question of money, it will be Liverpool. But Liverpool already know if he has an eye on the money, it could be another club.”

This is certainly an encourage update from the German journalist, who consistently said Thiago Alcantara would be joining the Anfield outfit [Off the Ball], even when regional outlets like The Echo rubbished the story.

That Liverpool remain a viable option for Bellingham himself is brilliant news.

Because let’s be honest, the Reds are struggling majorly this season.

Klopp’s troops are ninth in the Premier League table after losing 3-0 to Brighton this past weekend, sitting 10 points behind fourth-placed Newcastle.

Champions League football for Liverpool next season is a million miles from guaranteed, but if Bellingham remains open to the Reds now then no doubt he’ll have considered the lack of elite European action next term.
