Manchester United have been tipped to move for Ajax superstar Mohammed Kudus in the summer transfer window, with Liverpool also interested in signing the Ghana international.

According to journalist Dean Jones, Kudus moving to United is a move to keep an eye on, with the Red Devils joining the growing list of clubs interested in signing the 22-year-old attacker, who this season has been in great form for both club and country.

Jones said: “I’ve been really impressed with the fact that some of the names Ten Hag put to them, from almost day one, have done very well so far in this season, and Kudus is a player obviously now attracting attention from other clubs too, so it’s definitely one to look at for the summer.“

Sports World Ghana were first to report of Liverpool’s interest in the Ajax frontman, who according to the Sun report could be available for as little as £40m in 2023, a transfer fee that would tempt many top clubs in the summer window.

However, there’s every chance that Ajax could raise this asking price at the end of the season, especially given how much United paid last year for the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Antony, making Kudus potentially the Dutch giants’ next easy payday.

Indeed, Erik Ten Hag’s interest in Kudus is perhaps not too surprising. Yet with Liverpool also interested in the attacker, a transfer battle could soon begin between the two English giants that might could realistically see the forward move to Old Trafford rather than Anfield.

Kudus has all the qualities to be the next great Ajax superstar, with the attacker thriving in the UEFA Champions League this season as well as starring for Ghana in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. And given United’s need for a long-term attacker, the youngster makes perfect sense to reunite with Ten Hag than to move to Liverpool.

After all, the Reds have already spent big on an attacker this January in Cody Gakpo, and with United signing Wout Weghorst on loan, the stars are aligning for United to bring in a quality leading forward in the summer, with Kudus an obvious candidate for this role.
