Liverpool expressed an interest in signing Reading talent Michael Olise according to 90Min – but he’s off to Crystal Palace.
It’s stated that Palace are set to make Olise the first signing of the Patrick Vieira era after activating his £8million release clause.
The deal is expected to be completed in the coming days, with the Eagles landing a major coup ahead of the new Premier League season.
Olise, 19, was outstanding last season, racking up seven goals and 12 assists for Reading whilst playing on the left, right and as a number 10.
Reading boss Veljko Paunovic has suggested that Olise is ‘super talented’ and has ‘huge potential’, so it’s no shock that his release clause has now been activated.
A French youth international, Olise has some shades of Eberechi Eye, and the idea of them joining forces at Palace for years to come is hugely exciting.

90Min now claim that Liverpool did express an interest in taking Olise to Anfield, whilst Chelsea and Manchester City looking to re-sign him having previously had him in their youth ranks.
Michael Edwards is always shopping for a bargain, and £8million for a wondered like Olise is a potential bargain.
Maybe Liverpool want to see him in the Premier League before making their move, so don’t be expected to see them show an interest again in the future – but expect any future fee to be much more than £8million.
