The latest Liverpool transfer news.

Ajax whizkid Christian Eriksen has been tipped for a move to Liverpool, by none other than his current coach Frank de Boer who says he will not stand in his way.

He said: “It is up to Christian what he wants. If he feels good going to Liverpool, then it is up to him. I would want nothing more than having him with us for a few more years.

“But we realise the interest in this kind of player is huge. And I can also understand that he wants to make another step in his career. I can’t stop him.”

However the Danish starlet told the Dutch media that if no offers are incoming then he is willing to sign a new contract, rather than harm Ajax by walking away on a free transfer next summer.

He said: “If there is no club that comes then I don’t have any problem extending my contract.”

Liverpool have agreed a deal for the signature of Valencia starlet Pedro Chirivella, write The People.

The 17-year-old midfielder will cost between £2 million and £3.5 million, with a fee potentially due to be set by tribunal if the two clubs cannot meet on a compensation package, but the teenage has agreed terms with the Reds to sign a contract and join their academy.

Liverpool face a fresh threat over the future of Luis Suarez, with Arsenal reported to up their bid for £35 million for the Uruguayan striker.

The Guardian claim that Suarez is Arsene Wenger’s number one priority ahead of Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain.

The Mirror report that Steven Gerrard will sign a two-year contract extension this week, which will take him up until 2015.
