Chelsea reportedly have plans to partner Enzo Fernandez with Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jude Bellingham, two players who Liverpool are interested in signing with the Blues on the verge of landing the Argentine.

According to the Evening Standard, the west London side are eager to partner Fernandez with Bellingham for the future, with the Benfica midfielder on the verge of signing for Chelsea in a British record deal worth £112m. And now, the Blues are turning their attention to another Liverpool target.

Fernandez was heavily linked with Liverpool during the 2022 FIFA World Cup according to Bola Na Rede with Bellingham also firmly on the Reds’ radar as per the Athletic. However, Chelsea seemingly now have a plan to pip the Anfield side to the England international to inflict more transfer pain onto Jurgen Klopp.

Under new owner Todd Boehly, the Blues are on a spending mission to sign the world’s best young players, with Chelsea already bringing in Molde striker David Datro Fofana and Vasco da Gama midfielder Andrey Santos this month, with Monaco’s Benoit Badiashile also close to joining.

Indeed, Liverpool will be fuming with Chelsea winning the race to sign Fernandez, and the Blues landing Bellingham could send the Reds into meltdown given how intensely the Dortmund superstar has been monitored by the Premier League giants.

Many expected Bellingham to end up at Liverpool next summer. However, Chelsea’s new stance on the teenage midfielder could now lead to the Blues signing the 19-year-old, much to the dismay of both Klopp and the Reds.

With Chelsea spending like there’s no tomorrow and FFP seemingly forgetting to do it’s job, there’s a real chance that the Blues could now win the race for Bellingham, a move that would be a gigantic blow for Liverpool if their nightmare scenario plays out.

As we know, Bellingham has long been rumoured with a move to Liverpool, and the Reds once again missing out on a midfield target to Chelsea will sting for Klopp, who has seemingly wanted the Dortmund star ever since the youngster’s breakout year with Birmingham City.
