Liverpool are considering selling Fabio Carvalho but with a buy-back clause as part of a deal to leave Anfield.
Fabio Carvalho may leave Liverpool this summer but the Reds still see a future for him in the coming years.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who reports that an unnamed Champions League club have started talks with Liverpool over a deal for Carvalho.
Whilst many expect Carvalho to go out on loan this summer, the offer for Carvalho is actually a permanent one.
Liverpool are described as being ‘reluctant’ to sell, but could let Carvalho go if a buy-back clause is added into the deal.
Jurgen Klopp has hailed Carvalho as ‘exceptional’ in Liverpool training but that hasn’t translated to Premier League minutes.
The 20-year-old has started just four Premier League games this season and come off the bench in another nine, totalling just 343 minutes.
That’s a far cry from the key role Carvalho held at Fulham before making a £7.7million move to Liverpool last summer.
Carvalho is in danger of stalling at Anfield and wants first-team minutes, but Klopp may be tempted by the chance to bring him back to Liverpool in the future.

Who could be targeting Liverpool’s Fabio Carvalho?
It’s unclear just who wants Carvalho right now.
The mystery club being in the Champions League is an intriguing hint though and that takes our minds to Portugal.
Carvalho hails from Portugal and spent time in the Benfica ranks as a kid before moving to England.
Benfica are in the Champions League next season and may well fancy bringing Carvalho back to Lisbon.
Relations between the two clubs are strong following Darwin Nunez’s move last summer and this is a move that makes total sense to us.
Portuguese rivals Porto are also in the Champions League and shouldn’t be overlooked, whilst a hop over to Spain presents the possibility of Real Sociedad making a move.
Union Berlin and Lens will be looking to make big signings to help them in the Champions League next season and the same goes for Feyenoord, who are desperate to back manager Arne Slot.
Those three clubs again make sense for Carvalho, but whether they are willing to accept buy-back clauses remains to be seen.
