Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are planning a bid for Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka in the summer transfer window, but Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are also interested in the Gunners youngster, according to The Times.

The report has claimed that Liverpool are monitoring Saka’s situation at Arsenal ‘with a view to a potential summer move’.

Defending Premier League champions Manchester City are also keeping tabs on the 21-year-old England international winger, described as “unique” by Arsenal legend Martin Keown in The Daily Mail.

However, Saka has told Arsenal that he wants to stay, according to The Times.

The report has claimed that the youngster is set to sign a new contract with Arsenal that will see his wages rise from £70,000 per week to £200,000 per week.

Should Liverpool bid for Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka in the summer?

That Bukayo Saka is about to sign a new contract with Arsenal shows that the winger is happy at the club where he grew up and wants to stay at the Emirates Stadium.

And Arsenal will surely not want to sell one of their best and most prized assets.

However, if Liverpool are really keen on Saka, then they should make a bid for him in the summer of 2023, even if he signs a new deal in the coming weeks.

What’s the worst that could happen?

Arsenal will reject it.

So be it.

At least it will show that Liverpool mean business.
