Atalanta have no interest in selling Teun Koopmeiners as Liverpool begin to sound out the midfielder’s transfer. So, the Serie A side will demand bids that are ‘impossible to refuse’.
That is according to TuttoMercatoWEB, which reports La Dea do not expect to receive any suitable offers during January. The Gewiss Stadium natives are determined to keep hold of the Dutchman this month as he holds an instrumental role in Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.

The 24-year-old made his 15th start of the Serie A season as the Italian top-flight resumed on Wednesday against Spezia. Koopmeiners also marked the occasion by laying on his first assist since September 11. He fed Mario Pasalic in the 92nd minute to salvage a 2-2 draw.

Gasperini has fielded Koopmeiners in all 16 of Atalanta’s Serie A fixtures so far this season. He also saw the 15-cap Netherlands international net once at Hellas Verona on August 28 for a 1-0 win. Koopmeiners then struck a hat-trick as they beat Torino 3-1 on September 1.
Now, his performances from predominately deep-lying areas in Bergamo have caught Reds boss Jurgen Klopp’s eye. Liverpool are exploring the transfer of Atalanta ace Koopmeiners in January to strengthen their engine room. But La Dea will only sell for an unrefusable fee.

Liverpool are not alone in courting Koopmeiners’ transfer from Atalanta
Reports by iNews first cited Liverpool’s interest in Koopmeiners’ transfer from Atalanta in January. It noted that the Reds have scouted the Castricum native in several games during recent months. He also provided one assist in five appearances at the World Cup in Qatar.
Koopmeiners registered his only goal involvement with the smartly worked free-kick that Wout Weghorst scored to equalise against Argentina. He also converted from the spot in the penalty shoot-out. But Virgil van Dijk and Steven Berghuis’ missed spot-kicks proved costly.
But helping the Netherlands reach the quarter-finals saw Atalanta up their valuation amid further transfer interest. TuttoMercatoWEB also noted in December that Napoli are keen but faced a minimum €40m (£35.5m) price tag for La Dea’s €12m (£10.5m) signing from 2021.
