A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool…
Mario Balotelli will reportedly lose £2million a year if he misbehaves should his move to Liverpool go through.
That is according to the Sun, which claims the Italian international will have a financial incentive to ensure all the headlines he makes are the right ones.
The AC Milan forward is said to be closing in on a £16million move to Anfield, with a deal potentially being finalised by Monday.
That may be the case, but the Mirror reports that Brendan Rodgers has lined up an alternative just in case the Balotelli deal falls through.
It is being claimed that former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has already undertaken a medical at Liverpool and has been offered a one-year deal. But the report adds that he may well only move if the club fail in their bid for Balotelli.
If true, it is certainly an interesting way of covering all bases, but where it could potentially leave the Cameroon international remains to be seen.
That said, both men could ultimately move, adding considerable quality to the Reds’ front-line.
