A select round-up of the latest transfer news relating to Liverpool…

Liverpool suffered a disappointing 0-0 FA Cup draw with League Two side Plymouth Argyle on Sunday afternoon, and the attention will turn to Sunday’s clash with Manchester United.

Manager Jurgen Klopp may not look to do much business this month, with the January transfer window notoriously difficult to navigate, and one player is already being linked with a summer move to Anfield.

The Liverpool Echo report that the Reds have lined up Bayer Leverkusen star Julian Brandt for a summer move to Anfield, with Klopp keen to raid the Bundesliga again having landed Joel Matip, Loris Karius and Ragnar Klavan from Schalke, Mainz and Augsburg respectively in 2016.

German international winger Brandt, 20, has hit three goals and six assists so far this season, and it’s claimed that Liverpool scouts have been watching him throughout this season with a view to moving for him over the summer.

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic has sparked rumours of a move to Liverpool having lauded his former Mainz and Dortmund boss Klopp in an interview with the Daily Star.

Serbian international Subotic was a key part of Klopp’s Dortmund side, but has struggled with injury woes in recent years. Now, Subotic has hailed Klopp, and with Liverpool still enduring some defensive problems, some may like to see Subotic reunite with Klopp at Anfield.

“Klopp has been my mentor for nine years, he supported me, encouraged me, had trust in me,” said Subotic. “With him and Dortmund I had the most amazing time. For that I am forever thankful. He was and is an important person in my life and I owe him a lot,” he added.

Finally, BBC Sport claim that Premier League strugglers Swansea City have enquired about a move for Liverpool misfit Mamadou Sakho, who has yet to appear this season having fallen out of favour under Klopp.

The Frenchman, 26, has no future at Anfield, and Swansea – who have conceded the most goals in the Premier League this season – are believed to be keen on him, though the Reds want a huge £20million for their outcast defender.
