A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool…
According to a report from the Guardian, Liverpool are in talks with Internacional in a bid to sign Brazilian midfielder Allan Rodrigues da Souza to Anfield this summer.
The 18-year-old is said to have impressed Liverpool coaches last season and it is being reported that it will take around £500,000 to bring him to the club’s academy.
If he arrives, Allan will be the second Brazilian to sign for the Reds in quick succession, although he will not be expected to have the same short-term impact as his countryman Roberto Firmino.
In other news, the same paper claims Deportivo La Coruna are keen on signing Liverpool player Luis Alberto.
The 22-year-old has only played 12 senior matches for Liverpool and spent last season on loan at Malaga, so a permanent move back to his homeland would make sense for all concerned.
And finally, the Daily Star reports that Martin Skrtel will sign a new long-term contract at Anfield on Monday.
The report claims the Liverpool centre-back has agreed a three-year extension and he will quickly put pen to paper when he returns to pre-season training next week.
