Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has personally told manager Jurgen Klopp that he will leave Anfield at the end of the season, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg on Twitter.

Plettenberg has reported this morning that Firmino has decided to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

The £180,000-a-week (SalarySport) Brazil international forward has reportedly told Liverpool manager Klopp of his decision.

Plettenberg has claimed that Firmino informed Klopp of his desire to leave Liverpool today.

The Brazil international forward is out of contract at the Merseyside club at the end of the season.

This means that Firmino will leave the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners as a free agent.

No big loss for the Reds

In our view, Roberto Firmino leaving Liverpool at the end of the season is not going to be a massive loss for the Reds.

Yes, we know that the Brazilian has been superb for Jurgen Klopp’s side over the years.

Liverpool would not have won the Premier League or the UEFA Champions League under Klopp without Firmino.

However, the Brazilian is not guaranteed a place in the Liverpool starting lineup anymore and has also had injury problems.

Klopp now has options in attack.

Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez are more than enough firepower Liverpool need.
