A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool…

Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is expected to discuss personal terms with Sunderland this weekend, after the Black Cats reportedly had a £14million bid accepted on Friday.

The frontman enjoyed a successful spell on loan at the Stadium of Light last season, and despite the departure of Luis Suarez from Anfield, it appears Brendan Rodgers is willing to let Borini go.

The Sunderland Echo claims the Italian favours a return to Gus Poyet’s club.

But if the move does go through as expected, Rodgers will surely need to bring in at least one new goal-getter this summer, if not two.

One striker who could arrive is Queens Park Rangers attacker Loic Remy, with the Mirror reporting that Liverpool are in pole position for the Frenchman.

However, it is being claimed that Remy has been told he will have to drop his wage demands if a move is to go through.
