Barcelona have a three man shortlist for their next big transfer target.

Barcelona showed their strength with a 4-0 Champions League win over PSV Eindhoven this week.

Their desire to get even better is ongoing, and Mundo Deportivo report they have a three man midfield transfer shortlist for next summer.

Adrien Rabiot, Frenkie De Jong, and Paul Pogba are the three names who figure.

Rabiot would be the cheapest option, with his PSG contract set to expire next summer.

The biggest threat to that plan is reported interest from Liverpool.

ESPN claim Liverpool have already approached Rabiot’s representatives over a potential move to Anfield.

Rabiot would be a strong addition to the Liverpool team, a long-term replacement for James Milner, and it is also a move which would backfire on rivals Manchester United.

Liverpool signing Rabiot would leave Barcelona’s three-man shortlist reduced to two; Paul Pogba and Frenkie De Jong.

The last thing United need is to lose Pogba, the heart of their midfield and former world record buy.

United have also expressed interest in De Jong, The Mirror report, after sending scouts to watch him in action.

Signing Rabiot would be a big move for Liverpool.

If it accelerated Pogba’s departure from United, or denied the Red Devils a move for De Jong, it would be the icing on the cake.
