Liverpool will reject any loan approaches for Divock Origi, but the Reds’ valuation risks pricing the rumoured Wolves target out of a move to Italy or Germany, according to Goal.

The Anfield outfit are open to parting the Belgian forward this summer as Jurgen Klopp clears the deadwood. Origi started just two of his nine Premier League appearances last season and failed to feature after February.

His last run out lasted just three minutes in Liverpool’s Merseyside derby defeat to Everton, as well. Now, the 26-year-old faces a future away from Anfield, but the Reds’ actions risk blocking any transfer.

Liverpool have no interest in letting Origi leave on loan amid interest from England, Italy and Germany. The 29-cap international is in the final year of his £60,000-per-week contract and want to avoid him leaving for free.

But the Reds are prepared to keep Origi on Merseyside if no side rises to their £15m asking price. The valuation has so far kept potential suitors at an arms’ length with no formal bids yet made this summer.

Wolves are among Origi’s list of suitors, alongside Serie A outfit Napoli, per the Mirror. 90min have also previously cited Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Southampton and West Ham as potential Premier League landing spots.

Liverpool need to sell Origi this summer

Liverpool do have to sell Origi this summer, be it to Wolves, another Premier League rival or Napoli. He failed to score in any of his top-flight or Champions League outings last term, with his sole goal for the campaign coming against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup.

Klopp had no place for the Belgian other than the bench, either, after the Merseyside derby in February. But even a seat on the bench was not always secure, with the forward omitted from seven squads. And with his contract expring in 2022, a move is surely a must.
