Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur both want Sofyan Amrabat and the Fiorentina midfielder has now been branded a ‘crazy player’ over in Italy.
Foot Mercato claim that Liverpool have already held talks with Amrabat’s representatives and are planning additional talks already.
Amrabat is understood to prefer a move to Liverpool over Tottenham Hotspur at the moment, with Antonio Conte still keen.
Tottenham wanted to sign Amrabat earlier this year but a deal with Fiorentina ended up falling through.
Tottenham may still fancy signing Amrabat having witness him shine for Morocco during the World Cup.
Amrabat was a defensive machine in front of Morocco’s back line and was one of the stars of the tournament over in Qatar.
Premier League interest is mounting but Liverpool appear to be the favourites for the 26-year-old’s signature in 2023.

Liverpool target Amrabat hailed as a ‘crazy player’
Praise has been pouring in for Amrabat over the last month with many pundits and fans blown away with his Morocco performances.
Tuttosport director Guido Vaciago has now joined in having spoken about Amrabat with Tuttomercatoweb.
Vaciago suggested that Amrabat is a ‘crazy player’ but it isn’t all praise for the midfield maestro.
Vaciago feels that Amrabat was playing for Morocco at a level that Fiorentina just haven’t seen in Serie A.
The Italian is backing Fiorentina to challenge for European players if they can somehow get Amrabat to transfer his international form to league action.
“Crazy player, not the same one seen with Fiorentina,” said Amrabat. “If Viola inherit Morocco’s Amrabat, they can return close to the European zone,” he added.
This is a concern really as buying players off the back of strong major tournaments can be a recipe for disaster.
Amrabat was a solid if unspectacular midfielder for Fiorentina before the World Cup yet is now being valued at around €40million (£35million).
That doesn’t seem like a very Liverpool deal to strike, but maybe the Reds are convinced that he can be a Premier League success.
