Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz continues to shine, leaving Gary Neville absolutely blown away – and Tottenham Hotspur probably more than a little gutted.
Liverpool beat Arsenal 2-0 on Wednesday night with Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino finding the net for the Reds.
Now just one point behind Manchester City, Liverpool have real hope of winning the Premier League title.
A key factor in their recent blistering run of form has been the arrival of Diaz.
The Colombian winger joined Liverpool in a deal worth £37million rising to £49million as the Reds hijacked Tottenham’s January move.
Diaz has made an instant impact for Liverpool, even if he only has two goals and no assists in six Premier League outings.
The 25-year-old is quick and inventive, sharp around the edge of the box, hard-working off the ball and simply a perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s style of play.
It usually takes new signings a little while to fully adjust to Klopp’s style; just look at Andrew Robertson and Fabinho, who took a few months to really get going.
A more recent example is Ibrahima Konate, who has been in and out of the Liverpool side this season but will surely become a key man.
In Diaz’s case though, he has been straight into the side, often keeping an established star like Diogo Jota on the bench.
That’s truly impressive from Diaz and he has more than justified Klopp’s early faith in him.
Diaz has been earning praise from all corners, with Gary Neville certainly impressed.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Neville has highlighted Tottenham missing out and Manchester United seemingly not even looking at Diaz.
Neville believes United should have been looking to sign Diaz but weren’t even mentioned as a possible destination.
Neville added that he thinks Diaz is ‘unbelievable’ in the way he works off the ball, remarking ‘what a player’ after seeing his first few weeks at Liverpool.
“It’s unbelievable that Diaz was going to Tottenham, he’s then gone to Liverpool, there’s not even been a mention of him going to Manchester United,” said Neville.
“Manchester United are going to lose Cavani at the end of the season, probably going to lose Pogba, they’ve lost Greenwood, Rashford’s out of form, Martial’s gone to Sevilla but will probably go at the end of the season, so you think… they’re going to need two or three at the end of the season in those positions and they weren’t even mentioned.”
“You watch that lad, he’s not had his best game tonight, but I watched him in the Carabao Cup final and I watched him on Saturday at Brighton and I think… what a player he is; tough, aggressive, works hard, creates chances, his reaction when they give the ball away is unbelievable, he springs back,” he added.
