Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in signing Ajax defender Jurrien Timber at the end of the season.
That’s according to 90Min, who claim that Timber is looking to secure a move away from Amsterdam this summer.
It’s stated that Timber has asked his representatives to explore interested suitors well in advance of the transfer window.
There is no shortage of interest already; Manchester United are long-term admirers with Erik ten Hag a big fan of Timber from their time together at Ajax.
It’s stated that Ten Hag loves Timber and would ‘take him tomorrow’ if United and Ajax could agree a deal.
Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and Marseille are all thought to be interested too with Liverpool and Tottenham keen as well.
Timber is out of contract in 2025 and a Premier League move could now materialise for the centre back this summer.

Tottenham move makes more sense for Jurrien Timber
Timber, 21, is an outstanding centre back prospect and Virgil van Dijk would be very happy to see him join Liverpool.
Van Dijk has called Timber a ‘great player’ and believes he has ’so much potential’, tipping him for a big future.
Yet whilst Liverpool may be keen, Tottenham may actually make more sense for him.
Liverpool seem to be focusing on a natural left-sided defender this summer with Josko Gvardiol, Levi Colwill, Max Kilman and Nayef Aguerd all linked of late.
Timber is a right-footer and may fit a similar profile to Joe Gomez, with Liverpool seemingly prioritising a different type of defender.
Tottenham currently play a back three and signing Timber may allow him to play on the right side with Cristian Romero in the centre, the role he played for Atalanta.
Timber can provide real pace to the Tottenham back line and would hopefully enjoy more success than Davinson Sanchez, the last defender Spurs signed from Ajax.
This move does make sense for Spurs but only really if they’re sticking to the back three moving forward.
Manchester United may be the most interested club here but Liverpool and Tottenham are worth keeping an eye on in the race for Timber.
