Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur fancy signing Torino defender Gleison Bremer – and he has now been branded ‘the strongest defender in Europe’.
Bremer, 24, joined Torino back in 2018 having shown promise in his native Brazil with Atletico Mineiro.
The 6ft 2in centre back has been developing gradually in Italy but now finds himself as one of the stars of Serie A.
Bremer has been hailed as ‘really incredible’ by Fabrizio Romano and looks primed for a move away from Torino this summer.
Bremer now has 100 appearances for Torino and a move to the Premier League appears to be a real possibility at the end of the season.
Tuttosport reporter Camilo Forte has told Tuttomercatoweb that he was impressed with Bremer nullified Dusan Vlahovic as Torino drew 1-1 with Juventus on Friday night.
Forte noted that Bremer has done a similar job on the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku in recent times, showing just how good he can be at the highest level.
Forte also claims that Liverpool and Tottenham are keen on signing Bremer this summer, as are Manchester City and Manchester United – a chase Forte supports having called Bremer ‘the strongest defender in Europe’.
“The Brazilian has been expressing himself at a very high level for some time now,” said Forte. “On Friday he stopped Vlahovic, but in recent seasons he had also cancelled champions of the calibre of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lukaku.”

“On the pitch he did very well, I think in his future there is England: I see him in one of the big names in the Premier League, on his trail there are Liverpool, Tottenham and both Manchester teams. And they are right to follow him closely, for me Bremer is currently the strongest defender in Europe,” he added.
Tottenham’s director of football Fabio Paratici knows the Italian market well and adding Bremer to Antonio Conte’s back line certainly makes sense.
Cristian Romero is shining at the moment, but Bremer can provide another quality option with Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier in and out of the team.
A move to Liverpool doesn’t seem likely though. Jurgen Klopp already has Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez at his disposal, with Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams also in the ranks.
Tottenham seem like a more likely destination than Liverpool for Bremer, but you can expect even more interest if he continues to shine like this.
