Liverpool may be keen on signing Torino defender Gleison Bremer, but Leicester City are now ready to go in with a big move this summer.
Liverpool have been linked with Bremer for some time now despite their plethora of centre backs.
Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez are all fighting it out for just two spots in the team.
Add in Ben Davies, Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips and Liverpool are blessed with a whole host of options.
It’s therefore been a little hard to see Liverpool splashing the cash on signing Bremer this summer.
Yet Goal’s Liverpool correspondent Neil Jones – one of the better Liverpool sources out there – reported earlier this month that Liverpool really are keen on Bremer.
Bremer has been exceptional for Torino this season, leading to Fabrizio Romano calling him ‘really incredible’.
A deal seems unlikely but Liverpool do at least have some interest in the Brazilian star.
Now though, The Telegraph report that Leicester City are prepared to make a big push to sign Bremer at the end of the season.
Former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers allegedly wants to freshen up his central defensive options and sees Bremer as a key target.

The report notes that Bremer is being valued at a huge £40million, so Leicester will need to come up with a big bid.
It’s added that Liverpool are admirers of Bremer and they would no doubt loathe to see Rodgers swoop in and get him.
That’s nothing against Rodgers himself, but a move to Leicester would make any future move to Anfield very, very difficult.
You look at the fees Leicester have commanded for Ben Chilwell and Harry Maguire in recent times. If Bremer goes to Leicester and shines, that price tag could easily double.
It could be now or never for Liverpool with Bremer, and we would therefore assume never as Liverpool just don’t really need a centre back this summer.
