Liverpool continue to be linked with Olympiacos defender Pape Abou Cisse – but they could face a battle with Italian side Torino.
The Daily Mail reported last week that Liverpool were in the race with Arsenal and Everton for Cisse.
Liverpool were even described as being the most interested of the three clubs.
That’s despite Liverpool signing Ibrahima Konate over the summer, adding him Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.
Nat Phillips can’t even get a game, so why are Liverpool chasing another centre back?
It seems strange, but Cisse is impressing in Greece and Liverpool may want to reunite him with Senegal international teammate Sadio Mane.
Torino could rival Liverpool for Cisse amid Bremer fears
OnSports in Greece claim that Torino want to sign Cisse. Right now though, the Italian side don’t have the cash to strike a deal.
This rumour comes amid fears Torino could lose their star defender Bremer to – ironically – Liverpool.

Tuttomercatoweb claim that Liverpool are the ‘most active’ foreign team looking to sign Bremer in 2022.
Again, you have to question just why Michale Edwards would want a centre back, but that’s what is being reported.
Torino may well see Cisse as the ideal player to come in and replace Bremer if the Brazilian leaves.
The nightmare scenario for Torino would be that Bremer ends up going elsewhere and then Liverpool swoop in for Cisse.
The money just isn’t there for Torino right now, and that leaves them open to both losing Bremer and missing out on Cisse.
