Herculez Gomez has stated that Liverpool transfer target Yunus Musah ‘can’t say no to Arsenal’ amid rumours of a possible transfer for the Valencia midfielder.
The former USA international was mightily impressed and even surprised by Musah’s performances for the USMNT at the Qatar World Cup and how he was ‘physically fantastic’, as he told ESPN.
After reaching the knockout stages, and getting booted out by the Netherlands, Musah is now being linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including a return to Arsenal, Graham Potters Chelsea and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

The 20-year-old started his career in north London, but made the brave call to head for the exit door and sign for Valencia in 2019.
Whilst he’s not playing for a team in the Champions League right now, amid these links, Gomez thinks his fellow countryman is more than good enough to now take that next step in his career.
“I like La Liga for him,” said Gomez. “I had questions and doubts over Yunus Musah’s physical abilities, a lot of which he has answered at this World Cup. I thought physically, he was fantastic. One of the major doubts I had was a lack of productivity and end product.
“He’s a very talented player. I think he will now run with the best of them. I didn’t think, physically, he would be that good or dominant. He was really that good during the group stages.
“I like the Premier League, but not over La Liga. He’s so technical and so good in between the boxes. He is so shifty in getting in and out of things. His ability to drive a ball. I think he will find a nice home in La Liga, but the Premier League is a different animal. Serie A is a different animal when it comes to defensively.
“I think he has more of an ability to play at a higher team in La Liga than a higher team in the Premier League – I think he’s a Champions League player. I don’t think he’s a very good Champions League player in the Premier League. I think those teams are in a field of their own.
“Do you see him playing for Manchester City? Arsenal? Do you see him playing there (Arsenal given the links)? Arsenal probably not (start). Inter, maybe – Valencia’s hand might be forced at some point where they have to sell him and he’s one of the bargaining chips that they have right now – I don’t think he can say ‘no’ to Arsenal and there is a personal story there. It might be a case of ‘this is home for me’.”

LIVERPOOL AND ARSENAL IDEAL FOR MUSAH
As Musah showcased at the Qatar World Cup, he has every bit of quality in that midfield area to be box-to-box and be that engine in the middle of the park.
At 20, he still has years left of development in him. Liverpool need midfielders of his ilk and it would be a smart move for both, including working under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp who can help take his game to the next level.
The same could be said for Mikel Arteta at Arsenal because, once again, that is another coach and team on the up. And another side that Musah can work his magic in, so both teams would be ideal for Musah going forward.
