Premier League giants Liverpool have an ‘unbelievable’ talent on their hands in former Newcastle United teenager Bobby Clark.
Monday’s 6-1 thumping of Leeds United aside, the less said about ‘the present’ at Anfield the better. But the future, at least, looks brighter as Roberto Firmino’s pearly-white gnashers.
In 18-year-old Bobby Clark, a £1.5 million signing from Newcastle, Liverpool have one of Britain’s most promising young talents. The England U18 international has already made two Premier League appearances for the Merseyside giants.
And with Fabinho, James Milner and Jordan Henderson seemingly past their best, do not rule out Clark making a Stefan Bajcetic-style emergence into the first-team next term.

Is Bobby Clark the future of Liverpool?
“I remember my first impressions of him during the first couple of sessions,” Rory Drane, who coached Clark at Newcastle, tells the Liverpool Echo. “Just unbelievable.
“I couldn’t understand how, after being away from football for so long (because of the COVID lockdown), he was hardly making mistakes. The sessions were always intense. (He) showed his determination to maintain high standards all of the time.”
Clark was namechecked by Jurgen Klopp following Liverpool’s friendly victory over AC Milan during the Qatar World Cup; setting up Darwin Nunez with a sumptuous through ball.
Alongside Bajcetic, Conor Bradley, Calvin Ramsay, Ben Doak and co, an array of hugely exciting talent could potentially save a Liverpool side operating on a budget a pretty penny in the transfer window going forward.
“He’s still got lots to develop and improve,” adds Liverpool U21 boss Barry Lewtas. “But I think he’s done ever so well for us over the course of the season. It probably goes unnoticed that he’s on the team sheet most games.
“What’s really exciting is, for someone so young, he’s shown he’s able to play in the middle of the park. Both in and out of possession.
“He’s extremely talented and his pressing is excellent. He’s been a really good player for us. I also think he’s made massive strides as well. Big improvements.
“That’s what he’s going to have to continue to do.”
