Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that Bukayo Saka would love to play with Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold at Arsenal after their link-up for England.

Bukayo Saka netted a hat-trick as Gareth Southgate’s England thrashed North Macedonia 7-0 in their Euro 2024 qualifier this week, with Trent Alexander-Arnold picking out the Arsenal star for his quite ridiculous second goal.

Former Premier League striker Agbonlahor stated that Saka just knows he can make the runs and Liverpool’s creative star will pick him out and how he wishes he could play with him ‘every week’ at the Emirates, as he told talkSPORT.

Whilst Saka has been a regular for his country over the years, the same can’t be said for the man at Anfield, who at times, has even struggled to make the squad.

Many lay that down on Southgate’s doorstep and how he can’t seem to get the best out of Alexander-Arnold’s talents, who was called a ‘top player’ by Saka recently.

But with the Liverpool academy product deploying this new number ten role for England, perhaps it’s opened a door which will see the right-back lift off his international career.

“You look at Kevin de Bruyne and Trent (Alexnader-Arnold) and what they are doing now,” said Agbonlahor. “I mean that pass to Saka (for England v North Macedonia).

“Saka knows he can just run in-behind. I bet he wishes that Trent could come to Arsenal and just play with him every week.”

Alexander-Arnold needs to be used more by England

Yes, those defensive questions will always hover above Alexander-Arnold’s head, but his talents with the ball can’t be ignored because they are beyond a joke and one of the best in the Premier League.

Whether it’s at right-back, or this newly-found number ten role, he not only needs to be picked for the England squads, but he needs to be starting.

Perhaps playing TAA in the middle of the park is the answer, not just for his country, but a certain Jurgen Klopp also, who is need of midfield players.
