Liverpool have been linked with a move for Roma star Mohamed Salah, and their desire to land him would have surely increased following his latest display.

A report in the Daily Mail earlier this month suggested that Liverpool were considering moving for Roma winger Mohamed Salah following his sensational year in Serie A.

Salah may be mostly remembered amongst Reds fans for his disappointing spell with Chelsea. But while his time at Stamford Bridge may put some off, his form in Italy this year should give the Kop much more optimism that if a move can be completed, he can thrive at Anfield.

And his latest performance certainly proves why Liverpool want him this summer.

Salah played a crucial role in Roma’s 5-3 win over Chievo which kept them second in the Serie A table heading into the final weekend of the campaign.

With Roma surprisingly 2-1 behind shortly before the break, the Egyptian was somewhat fortunate to find an equaliser with his curled effort appearing to take a deflection on its way into the bottom corner. However, his second demonstrated some real class.

Salah made a brilliant run from the right before curling a sumptuous effort – that started outside the post – into the bottom corner to make the score 4-2.

The quality of his finishing and those clever runs into the pockets of space have helped Salah score 15 times in Serie A and contribute 11 assists, and if he could replicate that form on Merseyside if Liverpool could make a move happen, then Jurgen Klopp’s men would certainly be in with a great chance of challenging at the summit next term.
