Rumoured Liverpool target Federico Chiesa last night returned for Juventus after a ten-month injury kept the Italian international out of action for the majority of 2022.
The attacker came off the bench 74 minutes in to replace Fabio Miretti as Chiesa saw defeat in his first game from injury for Juventus, with the Serie A giants losing 2-1 to PSG as the Turin-based side crashed out of the UEFA Champions League and dropped down into the UEFA Europa League.
Injury problems have plagued Juventus for the majority of the season, yet Chiesa’s return is a huge boost for Massimiliano Allegri’s side, with Paul Pogba, Angel Di Maria and Gleison Bremer still out on the treatment table heading into the 2022 FIFA World Cup break.
Chiesa’s return could be a huge moment for Juventus in the second half of the season. And the landmark could also be big for Liverpool, who according to La Repubblica, are interested in signing the 25-year-old attacker, who might be viewed as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Whilst it will take some time for the forward to return to his best form, Chiesa returning to action with Juventus is huge for both the player and the Bianconeri, who now have one of Europe’s best wingers back amongst their ranks at the perfect time.

With a reported price tag of €120m (£102m) according to Calciomercato, Chiesa is a player who is valued heavily by Juventus. And with the attacker now back to playing, Liverpool could reignite their interest in the Italian superstar if the Serie A talisman can hit his previous form that made the winger such an exciting forward.
After all, a right-sided attacker will soon be on Liverpool’s agenda with Salah approaching the peak of his powers, and with Chiesa now returning from injury, there’s a good chance that the Reds could look to sign the Juventus star if the 25-year-old can hit the heights the winger has already reached.
