John Aldridge has raved about Evan Ferguson amid rumour linking the striker with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and has compared him to Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
The former Liverpool star has told The Sunday World that he rates Ferguson highly.
The pundit has compared the 18-year-old Brighton and Hove Albion and Republic of Ireland international striker to Kane.
Aldridge himself is a former Republic of Ireland international striker.
90min reported on Monday that Liverpool are among the clubs who are keen on the 18-year-old.
The report added that Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have also been impressed by Ferguson.
Tottenham are also keeping tabs on Ferguson, according to The Sun.

Liverpool target Evan Ferguson compared to Harry Kane
Aldridge said: “Evan Ferguson could be an Irish version of Harry Kane. He reminds me of Kane in so many ways and that is a big compliment.
“We don’t want to put too much pressure on the lad at 18, but the hype is inevitable as we have been waiting a long time for an Irish striker to break through.
“I really like what I’ve seen from him at Brighton. His movement off the ball is so good for a kid of his age and his finishing is top class.
“I see some of myself in him as well. He likes to play on the shoulder of centre-backs and seems to have great timing on his runs for a player who is so young.”
One for the future
In our view, Evan Ferguson is a promising young striker who Liverpool should continue to monitor.
We do not think that Brighton and Hove Albion will sell the 18-year-old in the summer transfer window.
The teenager is unlikely to get regular playing time in the Liverpool first team now anyway.
It would make sense for the Reds to keep tabs on Ferguson.
Ferguson has made five starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Brighton and Hove Albion so far this season.
The 18-year-old striker has scored three goals and provided two assists in those games.
