Liverpool’s defensive blows just keep on coming, as Joe Gomez has now picked up a knee injury in training with England.
Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho are already out injured, so losing another centre back is a huge blow for Jurgen Klopp.
Additionally, right back Trent Alexander-Arnold went off injured against Manchester City on Sunday, with The Times claiming that he will now be out for four weeks.
That leaves Klopp with a couple of options; he could go with James Milner at right back in place of Alexander-Arnold, or put his faith in Neco Williams.
Williams has shown promise in the Liverpool first team, and now is the time for Klopp to back the youngster with first-team action.
The Reds have already shown how highly they rate Williams having rejected Wolves’ attempts to sign him over the summer according to The Times.

Liverpool instead chose to sell Ki-Jana Hoever to Wolves and gave Williams a new deal in August, suggesting that they believe he may have an even bigger future than the Dutchman.
The problem for Williams is always that Alexander-Arnold is one of the best right backs in the world, so playing first-team football in the near future will be an issue.
The injury does now present Williams with a chance to shine providing that he can stay fit, and he may have the opportunity to prove that Klopp and Liverpool were right to sell Hoever instead of him over the summer.
