Liverpool anticipate interest in Takumi Minamino this summer after the forward rejected a move to Leeds United in the January transfer window.

The Reds have the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in the bag. Now it’s all about the Premier League and Champions League.

Winning the Premier League won’t be easy with just one game to go, but beating Southampton in midweek kept the dream live.

One of Liverpool’s goalscorer in that 2-1 victory was Minamino as he bagged the equaliser.

That may end up being Minamino’s final appearance for Liverpool though with a summer move now expected.

Liverpool anticipate interest in Takumi Minamino

Liverpool.com report that senior Liverpool sources expect there to be plenty of interest in Minamino this summer.

Teams in the Premier League and across Europe are likely to be interested in Minamino.

It’s even stated that Minamino rejected an offer to join Leeds United during the January window.

Reports in January suggested that Leeds weren’t able to convince Liverpool to offload Minamino, but it instead seems that the Japanese ace rejected the move.

Jesse Marsch came in as Leeds boss and he coached Minamino at Red Bull Salzburg, possibly maintaining Leeds’ interest.

Leeds aren’t safe from relegation though and dropping into the Championship would surely end their hopes.

Jurgen Klopp has hailed Minamino as ‘incredible’ but that hasn’t really translated to first-team playing time.

Minamino may have scored 10 goals in all competitions this season but has started just nine games in total.

With just 179 minutes of Premier League action it looks to be time for Minamino to leave Liverpool.

Divock Origi is leaving Liverpool too and it looks like Liverpool will be losing a couple of attackers this summer.

Minamino has shown his goalscoring ability in limited minutes this season and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him thrive elsewhere.
