Liverpool’s Divock Origi celebrates scoring their third goal
Liverpool striker Divock Origi has spoken about his first-team chances at Liverpool whilst on international duty with Belgium.
Liverpool are currently flying in the Premier League and are now being considered genuine title contenders under the guidance of the brilliant Jurgen Klopp.
But their form has left some looking in envious from the outside – Origi being one of them.
The Belgian talent has not started a game in the Premier League this season – with Klopp preferring the combination of Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino going forward.
Liverpool’s Divock Origi celebrates scoring their third goal
Speaking to RTBF this week Origi had this to say about his current first-team chances at Liverpool:
“I want to play more, but the team are winning, and we do not change a winning team.
“In addition, we are playing just one game a week, but I am still confident [of getting game time].”
Origi is certainly struggling to play regular football at the moment. Even if one of the usual trio is out injured Liverpool boss Klopp is more likely to bring Daniel Sturridge into the action ahead of Origi.
There is no doubting the fact that Origi has talent and at just 21-years-old is still a big part of the future at Liverpool. But for now, he may have to be content with a place on the bench for the foreseeable future.
