The Liverpool star shared how he could have joined Tottenham Hotspur two years ago.

Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum spoke to the Metro about how much he is enjoying life at Anfield, and shared how he could have joined Tottenham in the summer of 2016.
The Dutchman joined the Reds from Newcastle two years ago, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £25 million, and he has gone on to chalk up nine goals and 15 assists in 97 appearances in all competitions.
Wijnaldum is a great all-round midfielder – the kind of player who Spurs need in the middle of the park.
The 27-year-old spoke exclusively to the Metro, and admitted that he held talks with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino before eventually deciding to join Liverpool:

“I met Pochettino when I left Newcastle. I just felt Liverpool wanted to come to an agreement quickly.”
Liverpool currently sit top of the Premier League table, having beaten Tottenham 2-1 at Wembley Stadium today, with Wijnaldum scoring his side’s opening goal.
And Pochettino will surely be thinking that he should have done more to bring the Dutchman to north London two years ago.
