Liverpool star Fabinho was tempted into Premier League switch by the Manchester City ace.

Liverpool new-boy Fabinho sat down for an exclusive interview with Sky Sports News, and shared how Manchester city star Bernardo Silva convinced him into joining the Reds this summer.

The Brazilian played with the Portuguese ace during their time together at Monaco, and forged a close relationship, before Silva left the principality for the Etihad in the summer of 2017.

Fabinho then followed his former teammate to England this summer, joining Liverpool for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £40 million.

He was one of four new signings made by Jürgen Klopp, and many are backing Fabinho to be a real hit on Merseyside.

The 24-year-old spoke exclusively to Sky Sports News, and shared the role that Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva played in his move to Liverpool:

“He told me how much I would like Liverpool and how impressed he was by the way people here live, and breathe football. We were good friends at Monaco and he was one of the best players there. We had a real understanding, and I’m really happy for him that he won the title last season. I wish him plenty of individual success this season, but not the title!”

Fabinho might just have to be patient this season, with the likes of Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and James Milner all competing for places in Liverpool’s midfield.

He has more than enough quality to succeed in England, though, and will will surely prove to be a wonderful asset to Jürgen Klopp’s side.
