Liverpool have fancied Stanislav Lobotka and he has now raved about Anfield as a stadium where everybody wants to play.

The Reds ended their Champions League group stage campaign with a win as they beat Napoli 2-0.

Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez pounced with a couple of close-range goals to hand Liverpool a morale-boosting win.

This was Napoli’s first defeat of the season and Jurgen Klopp will hope that this results bring some consistency to their Premier League form.

Liverpool have fancied Stanislav Lobotka

Liverpool went up against a couple of players who have been linked with moves to Anfield in recent memory.

Kim Min-jae, Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have all been mentioned with moves to Liverpool over the years.

Then there is midfielder Stanislav Lobotka.

There maybe isn’t quite as much hype around Lobotka as there is with Kim, Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia.

The Slovakian international has been a regular for Napoli ever since joining from Celta Vigo back in January 2020.

A diminutive holding midfielder, Lobotka has earned comparisons to Luka Modric in the past and is a key part of this Napoli side.

Lobotka has even been linked with a move to Liverpool of late.

Tuttomercatoweb reported in October that Liverpool were keen on signing Lobotka but he was hoping to sign a new contract with Napoli instead.

A new deal hasn’t been confirmed just yet but it now looks very unlikely that Liverpool will be signing the 27-year-old.

Lobotka played 83 minutes for Napoli on Tuesday night before being substituted for Piotr Zielinski.

Before even stepping onto the pitch, the alleged Liverpool target had some kind words for Anfield.

As quoted by Football Italia, Lobotka stated that everybody wants to play at Anfield because it’s a ‘great stadium’.

Lobotka was looking forward to playing at Liverpool’s famous home whilst being cheered on by Napoli fans.

Sadly for Lobotka and Napoli, the night ended in defeat.

Lobotka isn’t the first person to praise Anfield and he won’t be the last, but there is surely a small temptation within Lobotka to join Liverpool and play there every week.
