Earlier today, Liverpool released footage of Jürgen Klopp’s squad analysing their FIFA 23 ratings, where Dejan Lovren was spotted.
Dejan Lovren lives on at Liverpool
Despite leaving Anfield to join Zenit St Petersburg in 2020, the Croatia international still lingers around the AXA Training Centre to this very day – albeit in the form of a cushion.
At the 7:45 mark in the video, just before Thiago is shown his FIFA 23 statistics, a pillow adorning the face of Lovren can be seen in the corner of the dressing room at the AXA Training Centre.
You can see a still image of the cushion from the video below.
Clearly, Lovren remains a popular man amongst the Liverpool squad, even two years on from his departure.
It is no secret that the 33-year-old was highly thought of by the players during his time on Merseyside.
When leaving for Zenit St Petersburg, Lovren was given a replica Premier League trophy by Jordan Henderson, accompanied by a touching letter to thank him for his years of service at Anfield.
Despite a number of wobbly moments out on the pitch, he was clearly a big influence behind the scenes.
How Dejan Lovren is doing since Liverpool exit
It’s always interesting to see how players get on once they leave a club, so let’s take a look at what Lovren is up to.
Impressively, the Croatian has already become captain of Zenit St Petersburg despite only arriving in 2020, while also helping the Russian giants win four pieces of silverware.

Across his 56 appearances for Zenit St Petersburg, Lovren has lifted two Russian Super Cups and two Russian Premier League titles.
With a Premier League winner’s medal, as well as a Champions League winner’s medal also in his cabinet, it’s safe to say Lovren’s career took a turn for the better after joining Liverpool from Southampton.
