Liverpool target Sofyan Amrabat has dazzled everybody at the World Cup – even including the French president Emmanuel Macron.

Morocco’s World Cup journey is sadly over after a 2-0 defeat to France in the semi-finals on Wednesday night.

Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani found the net to send France into the final and set up a huge meeting with Argentina.

Morocco’s dream run has captured the hearts of many with a number of players dazzling along the way.

Midfielder Amrabat fits that bill having turned in outstanding performances over in Qatar.

The Fiorentina star has been a defensive powerhouse in front of the Morocco defence and deserves the interest from clubs like Liverpool.

Foot Mercato claim that Jurgen Klopp personally held a meeting with Amrabat’s representatives to discuss a move to Anfield.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg adds that sporting director Julian Ward is a huge fan of Amrabat and wants him at Liverpool.

Liverpool target Sofyan Amrabat earns Macron praise

Praise has been coming in from all corners for Amrabat and Liverpool may have seen enough to suggest that he can compete with Fabinho.

Pundits and fans alike have been stunned by Fiorentina star Amrabat but even he couldn’t have expected praise from Emmanuel Macron.

That’s right – the French president has even offered praise for Liverpool target Amrabat in the wake of his World Cup elimination.

Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to state that he has been told Macron went into the Morocco dressing room after Wednesday’s game.

Romano claims that Macron specifically praised Amrabat, hailing him as the best midfielder at the World Cup.

Even world leaders are now flocking to praise Amrabat and you can hardly say it’s undeserved.

If Liverpool get their way, Macron will be able to see him shine in the Premier League very soon.
