Everton have reportedly made a bid for the Liverpool target.
According to a report from Goal, Everton have made a €24 million (£21.2 million) bid for Barcelona’s Yerry Mina, but Liverpool quite simply cannot allow their Merseyside rivals to beat them to the Colombian’s signature.
According to a report from the Daily Mirror yesterday, Jürgen Klopp is a big fan of the 6ft 5in centre-back, and is extremely keen to bring him to Anfield this summer.
Liverpool are on the verge of achieving something very special under the guidance of Klopp, but many believe that the German needs to add another top class central defender to his ranks this summer, if he is to guide them to the Premier League title.

Mina, 23, would be the ideal centre-back partner for Virgil van Dijk, and if the Reds manage to bring him to Anfield, he could be a real hit with the club’s fans.
The Barcelona defender showcased his talent at the World Cup with Colombia in Russia this summer, displaying his aerial prowess and strength in the challenge on a consistent basis.
He would undoubtedly help Liverpool improve upon the solidarity of their defending, but Everton’s reported bid for the centre-back seems to have thrown a spanner in the works.
The Reds do possess the financial muscle to blow their rivals out of the water in the chase for Mina, however, so all is not lost.
Liverpool must use that superiority to ensure that the Toffees do not sign the Colombian, and bring the giant defender to Anfield instead.
If they do manage to do that, they will be in a great position to win the league title for the first time since 1990.
