As Sheyi Ojo waits to see where he will play next season, Liverpool would be wise to fix a loan move in the coming weeks.
Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo has been linked with a number of loan moves this summer, with the Independent claiming Newcastle United, Burnley and Middlesbrough all hold an interest in the 20-year-old.
Ojo starred for England as they lifted the U20 World Cup in June, turning a semi-final against Italy in the Three Lions’ favour with a sparkling cameo from the bench.
And, understandably, he has attracted Premier League interest, with the above report identifying Newcastle as his most likely suitors.
However, the Chronicle believe Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is yet to make a decision on Ojo and could monitor his progress in pre-season before deciding if he should be kept at Anfield for the coming campaign.
But that seems a foolish stance to take on a young player who made only two first team appearances in all competitions last season.
Ojo is unlikely to challenge Philippe Coutinho or Sadio Mane for a starting spot just yet, while Liverpool have also added club-record signing Mo Salah this summer.
With Ojo’s role at Anfield again likely to be on the fringes, struggling for game time, Klopp would be wise to sort a temporary move for his young star now in order to give him a full campaign elsewhere at the top level.
