Liverpool have been linked with a move for Alejandro Grimaldo, but they should go for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.

It is an open secret that Liverpool need to bolster their defence. While a centre-back is a top priority, the full back role is another area where Jurgen Klopp could be looking to improve either in January or in the summer transfer window.
Andy Robertson, the summer signing from Hull City, is yet to settle in, and has hardly played in the Premier League. Alberto Moreno has been the first choice, but he has looked shaky at the back at times.

The 22-year-old has put in attractive performances in European games this season, especially against Manchester United in the Champions League.
However, in order to capture his signature, Liverpool will have to meet his £35m valuation. A better option would be to go for Celtic left back Kieran Tierney instead.
Tierney has established himself as arguably the best left-back in Scotland at the moment, and many believe that he is one of the best in Britain.

The Scotland international is not only solid in defence, but is equally good in joining the attack. Plus, he is versatile enough to play in different position, although he is most comfortable playing as a left-back.
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has spoken highly of Tierney, and he is the one the Reds should target, if they at all are interested in signing a left-back.
He would certainly cost less than Grimaldo. Plus, Liverpool can poach him easily given Brendan Rodgers’ good connection with the Merseyside club.
