According to The Star, Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth are interested in signing David Brooks in the summer transfer window… and Liverpool should join the race for the Sheffield United midfielder.

With the report claiming that United could demand between £10 million and £15m for Brooks, it would be worth an investment for Liverpool and could pay off big time in the coming years.

The 20-year-old midfielder is one of the best young players in England, and his performances for the Blades this past season were very encouraging.

The Wales international scored three goals and provided four assists in nine Championship starts for United this past campaign.

While it is clear that Brooks is not ready to play week in and week out for the Liverpool first team, his talent and quality is obvious, and he could prove to be a massive signing for the Reds in the coming years.

A price-tag of £15m is not much these days, and Liverpool should at least make an offer to United.

Jurgen Klopp is a brilliant coach, and the Liverpool boss would be able to improve Brooks and gradually make him a first-team regular.
