Atletico are open to selling the 26-year-old and will accept €40 million (£34.31 million) as transfer fee.
What Lionel Messi said
Saul is a very highly-rated midfielder who was once praised by Barcelona and Argentina international forward Lionel Messi.
The Daily Star quoted Messi as saying about Saul in March 2021: ”A complete midfielder – he has it all.”

Saul has been at Atletico his entire professional club football career and is hugely experienced.

Saul made 22 starts and 11 substitute appearances in La Liga for Atletico last season.
The Spaniard scored two goals and have one assist in those games.
Saul also played six times in the Champions League in 2020-21.
