It goes without saying that Liverpool have a huge talent on their hands in the form of Harvey Elliott.
The 18-year-old scored again during his loan at Blackburn Rovers on Friday to make it six goals and 11 assists in the Championship this season.
The Championship is a difficult division and it bodes extremely well for Liverpool that such a young player is able to boss it so easily.
But if one transfer report is accurate, Liverpool might be looking at a player even younger and more exciting than Elliott.
According to Eurosport, the Reds are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham.
There’s no doubt that Elliott is a prospect, but Bellingham is probably well more advanced than him.
The 17-year-old scored against Manchester City in the Champions League this week to enhance his reputation even further, following a brilliant first season in the Bundesliga.
Impressing as an 18-year-old in the Championship is one thing, but pulling up trees in a Champions League quarter-final is quite another and Liverpool fans would love Bellingham at Anfield.
Elliott placed 26th in Goal’s list of 50 most promising youngsters in European football, quite a bit behind fifth-placed Bellingham.
Of course, it’s very possible that Elliott could wind up being a more accomplished player for Liverpool than Bellingham throughout both burgeoning careers, but the latter’s stock is undeniably higher by quite a bit right now.
