Liverpool are likely to revamp their midfield at the end of the season.
The Reds have several players in the middle of the park whose contracts expire in the summer.
There are also some ageing legs in the Liverpool midfield, so it’s an area that requires a lot of attention.

Stefan Bajcetic’s emergence this season means the Reds aren’t as desperate to bolster their midfield as they once were.
Nonetheless, Liverpool will still have to loosen the purse strings if they are to remain competitive at the highest level.
Nicolo Barella is one midfielder the Reds are being linked with once again ahead of the summer transfer window.
Just after Italy won Euro 2020, La Repubblica claimed that the Reds had readied a €70m (£59m) offer for the midfielder.
The speculation came to nothing in the end, and Barella subsequently penned a new Inter Milan contract in November.
More recently, Gazzetta dello Sport said Liverpool scouts Paul Goldrick and Barry Hunter have been following the 26-year-old for some time now.
And this week, Anfield legend Steven Gerrard spoke highly of Barella ahead of England’s win over Italy.
“They have potential world class players emerging now,” Gerrard said on Channel 4 before the Euro 2024 qualifier.
“Now you have the likes of Barella, Raspadori. These are players who could become world class over the course of their careers.”

Great player but can Liverpool afford him and Bellingham in the same window?
Barella is a top player in the prime of his career who has an impressive CV.
He has made 170 appearances for Inter Milan, has won 43 Italy caps, and has lifted six trophies (Transfermarkt).
However, with Jude Bellingham likely to be Liverpool’s top target, could the Reds afford two huge outlays on midfielders?
Barella is rumoured to have a price tag in excess of £70million.
Obviously Bellingham is the better option as he’s younger, equally as talented, and has experience of the English game.
But if Liverpool can afford to splash the cash, Barella would be a great acquisition too.
