Liverpool are interested in Bordeaux’s Guinean attacker Francois Kamano but is he really the answer to their problems?

The Guinean had a hugely impressive campaign for Les Girondins last season where he scored 13 goals and assisted a further four in all competitions. His performances have caught the eye of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and the report reveals that the Reds are willing to pay £13.5 million to bring him to Anfield.
Liverpool have had a disastrous few games in their pre-season but that should have no bearing on what the new season holds for them. The Reds are yet to be joined by their deadly attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah and the results in their absence have made the area of concern more evident.
Klopp will need to bring in capable backups for their front three in this transfer window, especially with the Club World Cup fixtures further increasing the burden. Kamano has looked like a player who would fit Klopp’s style of play perfectly, but is he the answer to their problems?

Kamano is quick, works very hard off the ball and has shown to be an astute finisher. He possesses the ability to take on players and his versatility of playing anywhere across the front three fits the criteria that Liverpool are looking for ahead of the new season.
However, with Xherdan Shaqiri, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Divock Origi, Rhian Brester and Ryan Kent all arguably better suited to the physicality of the Premier League, signing Kamano makes very little sense and Liverpool should consider someone far more established instead.
