According to Greek newspaper FOS, Liverpool are interested in signing Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos this summer.

It’s claimed that Liverpool are looking for a new left back this summer, and Tsimikas is one of four names on their list.

The other names aren’t stated, but Liverpool are thought to be considering a move for the Greek ace as cover for Andrew Robertson.

Who is Kostas Tsimikas?

Tsimikas is 24, has been with Olympiacos for six years now, and has become a first-team regular after loan spells with Esbjerg and Willem II.

Last season, Tsimikas hit five assists in 20 league games, and impressed in the Champions League, picking up an assist against Bayern Munich.

Tsimikas isn’t the tallest left back at 5ft 9in tall, but he is immensely quick and dangerous going forward, which is exactly what Jurgen Klopp would be looking for.

Have Liverpool already found a better option?

No other names from Liverpool’s wish list were named in the Greek report, but The Express claimed last week that the Reds want Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly.

Kelly has the versatility that Liverpool need, as he can play at both left back and centre back, meaning he can cover for both Andrew Robertson and the departure of Dejan Lovren.

Kelly is younger than Tsimikas too, meaning he still has great potential to grow, and his fit for Liverpool may just make him a better option than Tsimikas.
