Despite a busy transfer window and a significant squad overhaul, Liverpool are still expected to make further additions to their roster.
Following their second Premier League title in five years, the club, under Arne Slot, chose to make significant investments.
The Reds poured more than £400 million into reinforcing every part of their squad as they aim to position themselves well for a strong title defence this season.
A few of those signings have already made an impact. Hugo Ekitike has started scoring up front, while Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong are both looking solid additions at full-back.
Alexander Isak hasn’t played a full match yet, but his early appearances have already generated excitement among supporters – particularly after finding the net against Southampton on Tuesday night.
Morgan Rogers-like signing is more realistic than Carlos Baleba for Liverpool, says Ben Jacobs

Even with the major changes, there’s still a clear need for more depth, especially at centre-back after Giovanni Leoni’s ACL injury. Midfield and attacking reinforcements would also add important cover across the season.
One name linked to Liverpool over the summer was Carlos Baleba from Brighton, but nothing ever materialised beyond early interest.
Manchester United appear to be the most probable destination for the Cameroonian midfielder, who has garnered increased attention recently, according to Ben Jacobs.
Jacobs suggested that if Liverpool were to target any midfielder from within the league, it would be a player closer in profile to Morgan Rogers.
He said on The United Stand: “So if Manchester United want Carlos Baleba, they don’t have to worry about Liverpool or anyone else. They have to worry about probably finding 100 plus million, maybe even closer to 115 or 120 million, hoping that Brighton want to sell, which is far more likely in a year’s time.
“And then will they be head-to-head with Liverpool? We’ll have to wait and see. But I think Liverpool might be more inclined to go for a Morgan Rogers-type player. But if it isn’t Liverpool, there’s bound to be other suitors for Carlos Baleba.”
Liverpool could still make another move for the Brighton midfielder later on, but may prefer Rogers as he represents better value at this stage of their rebuild.
The Telegraph reports the Briton is valued at around £80 million, while Baleba would cost well over £100 million.
Why the right wing should be Liverpool’s priority
Both Baleba and Rogers would add quality to the squad, but they might not address Liverpool’s most immediate need.
Mohamed Salah recently signed a two-year extension, but there’s still no clear plan in place for who will take over when his contract ends.
Liverpool’s midfield is already well-stocked. Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai both look set to stay long-term, giving the club plenty of options in that area.
With Florian Wirtz and Alexis Mac Allister also in the mix, it may be wise to shift attention toward strengthening the right wing, especially with someone like Michael Olise fitting that role perfectly for the future.
